Is there anyone still out there in this Tribe?
If so, I would like to get your opinion on your experience of the American Healthcare "System." Specifically with regards to cancer treatment and the HMO experience.

    Still here!
I am one of the lucky ones who had a good experience with and felt well taken care of by HMO (MVP Health Care). They assigned a case manager to me who was a nurse, covered everything as expected by my policy (less co-pays, of course) from surgery through 12 chemo treatments, install and removal of infusi-port, and countless CT scans, PT scans, and bloodwork.
Sounds like you may not be having a good experience - see if they have case managers to assign to patients!

      Sorry for the delayed response.
I am not having a bad experience with an HMO. My father, self-employed/semi-retired, is covered only by medicare. I am just trying to get a better perspective of others' idea of the HMO experience and the current healthcare in America.
